Position Summary
The Chicago Stars Youth Soccer Camp Coaches are vital to the Community and Camps department’s programming. The Chicago Stars host camps and clinics throughout the year in and around the greater Chicagoland area, most of which occur during the summer months. These camps help to develop young female soccer players, inspire those athletes, and grow interest in the NWSL and women’s soccer. Camps and attendees range from beginner to advanced and can also focus on specific skills or positions. The Chicago Stars Soccer Camps are for participants aged 7-14 years old and play an integral part in the interest and development of soccer players and fans.

Position Type: Part Time/Contract
Position Summary
The Chicago Stars Youth Soccer Camp Coaches are vital to the Community and Camps department’s programming. The Chicago Stars host camps and clinics throughout the year in and around the greater Chicagoland area, most of which occur during the summer months. Key Responsibilities
- Coach age/skill level-appropriate training sessions
- Run and implement training sessions with exercises ranging from individual skill work to small-sided activities to scrimmages
- Ensure and create a fun, safe, and challenging environment
- Provide individual and group feedback throughout camps
- Implement curriculum in training sessions with and without the Camp Director’s supervision
- Always maintain highest standards of professionalism as a contractor for the club and its affiliates
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and coaching skills
- Ability to conceptualize and prioritize objectives of activities and communicate ideas on achieving those goals/objectives.
- Desire and ability to work with all ages and skill levels
- Passion to be a role model in a leadership position to inspire young female soccer players
- Strong work ethic with the enthusiasm and desire to teach through the game of soccer
- Ability to work holidays, evenings, and weekends
- Must pass a background check
- Must complete SafeSport training
- USSF or equivalent Coaching License(s)
Required Experience
- 18 years of age or older with access to reliable transportation
- Previous experience working with children ages 5-15
- Playing experience required, coaching experience preferred
Required Physical Abilities
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Frequent stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing
- Reach with hands and arms to express ideas
- Required to talk, listen, and express ideas consistently
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, and/or drag up to fifty (50) pounds
- Ability to work non-traditional hours/days, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
