Citi is actively seeking highly motivated Placement Analysts to join its Investment Banking team in Zurich, commencing in July 2026 for 6 months.
The Investment Banking group plays a pivotal role in advising corporate clients seeking to raise capital in the financial markets and those requiring strategic support for complex financial transactions. As a Placement Analyst, you will gain hands-on experience by contributing to initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financial restructurings, as well as the underwriting and distribution of equity, debt, and derivative securities.
We are deeply committed to providing comprehensive training and practical exposure to the intricacies of investment banking. The duration of this placement is set for 6 months, offering a significant opportunity for professional growth and learning.
Responsibilities
Diligently collect and meticulously analyse company-specific information to facilitate successful transactions, including conducting in-depth industry research and systematically organizing extensive financial data.
Perform rigorous analysis of financial data and develop sophisticated financial models, encompassing accurate company valuations, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, financing structures, and comprehensive comparative analyses.
Create and finalize compelling new business development presentations that effectively communicate strategic insights and proposals to clients.
Efficiently coordinate tasks and workflow with both internal teams and external working groups, ensuring seamless project execution and timely delivery.
Prepare all necessary internal documentation, including adherence to control and compliance regulations, to ensure operational integrity and regulatory alignment.
Qualifications
Currently in your final year of university studies or a recent graduate.
Expected to achieve, or have already achieved, a UK 2:1 (or equivalent academic standing) at the undergraduate level, or a Grade 5 or above from a Swiss university, in any degree discipline.
A strong, demonstrable interest in business and the broader financial industry.
Possess a record of strong academic achievement, indicating intellectual capability and dedication.
Fluency in both English and German is essential, encompassing strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
A desire to cultivate a deep and comprehensive understanding of the financial industry and its complex dynamics.
