Job Description
Our client has an existing thermal oxidizer, RTO-A, that requires periodic maintenance and media replacement approximately every month. The 40-50 days a year restricts our production. A project was begun in 2024 to install another thermal oxidizer, RTO-B, to increase equipment availability.
Project was on track for an October, 2025 outage
Scope included:
New Rockwell ControLogix PLC for RTO-B burner management BMS (configuration by others)
Modification of existing RTO-A PLC BMS (configuration by others)
Adding RTO-B combustion controls to existing APACS DCS
Modifications to existing RTO-A in existing APACS DCS
Modifications of existing RTO-A Profibus communications
Adding RTO-B to existing Profibus communications with new connection
Programming of Wonderware Process Suit HMI, including tag server, historian and alarms
Plans for a FAT of solution, and outage support
Outage plans:
Load configurations
Edit Profibus
Checkout & testing on live system
Commissioning
