About the job
Common Tenure Interim Post (3-year post)
The Benefice of Maybush is located within the bustling city of Southampton in Hampshire. Like many inner-city areas, it has its strengths and weaknesses, with a strong sense of community identity.
The Benefice of Maybush finds itself in a new season and is seeing encouraging evidence of God doing a new thing, after a period of decline. This is an exciting time to be joining us as we believe that God can make the impossible possible. We have spent the last eighteen months building relationships throughout the local community and with local organisations. We have a new vision to be the body of Christ throughout this community, by providing safe spaces in our buildings for the community to meet.
We are looking for an Associate Minister who will:
-
Bring a heart for local mission, enabling us to build and develop our links with the local community.
-
Understand the importance of working with our local schools and develop our children and families work.
-
Bring imagination and creativity as we discern God’s vision here in Maybush.
-
Encourage faith, spiritual development and growth in discipleship.
-
Work with creativity and flexibility alongside our Vicar Ali and the team to see new ministries birthed.
Our aim at Maybush is to make church accessible, enjoyable and open to all, enabling the churches across the estate to share the love of Jesus by becoming an integral part of the local community. We aim to live out what it means to Belong, Believe and Become all that Jesus wants us to be in our community by meeting people where they are at.
