Description of Work Unit
The Department of Computer Science has 1100 undergraduate majors and 279 graduate students in our Masters and Ph.D. programs as of Fall 2023. The department’s 26 tenure-track faculty are strong in research programs in algorithms, artificial intelligence, software engineering, big data, bioinformatics, computer vision, distributed systems, augmented and virtual reality, networks, parallel computing, cybersecurity, and computer science education. The department has 8 non-tenure track faculty members who assist with the department’s teaching mission and 14 staff members who support the overall teaching and research missions of the department. Position Summary
The Department of Computer Science at Colorado State University (CSU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor beginning fall 2026. A Ph.D. in computer science or closely-related field and a commitment to high-quality research and teaching in computer science and data science are required. The search is open to qualified applicants in artificial intelligence, including but not limited to RL and robotics. Applicants should have the ability to contribute to research as well as the development and teaching of computer science courses at all levels. Reflecting departmental and institutional values, candidates are expected to have the ability to advance the department’s teaching and research missions.
