Summary
The Assistant General Manager will partner with the General Manager to support all functions of an MCM retail location, executing plans for sales, operations, talent management, clientele development, and merchandising while ensuring a positive customer and work environment.
Responsibilities
- Achieve or exceed sales targets for the store
- Investigate customer issues, develop solutions, and coach staff on resolutions
- Train staff on standard operating procedures and ensure understanding of SOPs
- Monitor inventory planning and maintain inventory metrics such as in-stocks and turnover
- Maintain loss prevention procedures and security for receiving
- Review retail profit and loss to identify opportunities to improve profitability
- Analyze product performance and execute merchandising strategy
- Perform store opening and closing procedures per company standards
- Communicate company messages to sales associates and act on communications timely
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of store management experience, fashion or luxury experience preferred
- BA or BS degree
- Experience maintaining retail operational excellence including payroll and inventory management
- Experience with store openings and roll-outs
- Proven leadership in developing and mentoring staff
- Strong retail math and analytic skills and KPI driven
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
- Ability to work retail hours and stand for long periods
