SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Area Operations Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and enforcement of Property Operations policies and procedures. This individual will collaborate with business leaders throughout the organization and with team members in local FirstKey Home markets. The Area Operations Manager will also lead strategic project teams to implement process improvements and drive efficiencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Oversee and manage multi-site property management staff and daily operations. Assess current strengths, gaps, and opportunities for improvement to mitigate risk and improve operations.

· Enforce policies and procedures while supporting local team members in assigned territory.

· Lead ad-hoc project teams consisting of representatives from local markets and centralized support departments to update company processes and systems. Develop and track evaluation metrics to show increased effectiveness of operations.

· Manage resident experience by assisting local leaders track communication, resident inquiries, and escalations.

· Provide direct support to the Property Operations leaders to manage their respective groups, through training support, team development, and compliance with established processes.

· Assist the National Director of Operations in coordinating with other centralized departments to ensure adequate support for Property Operations and alignment with goals.

· Travel to districts to help manage staff, operating performance, training, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

· Build and maintain a positive relationship with all work streams within the company.

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Primarily working indoors, office environment.

· May sit for several hours at a time.

· Prolonged exposure to computer screens.

· Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.

· Requires frequent travel to FirstKey Homes local markets.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High School Diploma or equivalence

· Real Estate License in one or more states

· Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

· Minimum 5 years of property management experience.

· Minimum 2 years’ experience leading geographically dispersed teams to achieve organizational goals.

· Minimum 2 years of experience of writing and implementing property management policy and procedures.

· Proven ability to act as a business partner and influence leaders across various levels of an organization.

· Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Property Management, Real-Estate, or similar degree

· Experience with training and instructing teams

· Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company
