About the job
Join the vivarium operations team as an Animal Care Technician in a state-of-the-art facility located in Redwood City, CA.
Responsibilities
- Perform husbandry activities (care, feeding, sanitation) for rodent animal models in a regulated research environment.
- Perform routine facility and equipment maintenance.
- Document relevant husbandry and facility / equipment activities according to SOPs.
- Host clients visiting the vivarium, providing excellent customer service and a welcoming environment.
- Maintain necessary inventory levels of supplies, ordering and rotating supplies as needed.
- Coordinate receipt of incoming animals and supplies.
Qualifications
- 1-5 years of animal husbandry or cage washing experience in a regulated research environment
- Experience with mice / rats / rodents
- Customer-facing abilities: strong customer service skills and communication skills
- Ability to self-manage your time; problem solving ability
- High School Diploma Required; Associates or Bachelors degree is a Plus
- ALAT certification is a Plus

- Work schedule will be either Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday, 7am-3:30pm (including holidays)
