The AI Proof of Concept Team:
The AI Proof of Concepts team at JWP x Connatix aims to optimize and accelerate innovation by developing an AI-First software development pipeline. This involves implementing AI-First methodologies, testing and integrating sophisticated AI tools, and refining industry best practices that utilize AI throughout the software development lifecycle. The team's objective is to rapidly prototype, tighten stakeholder feedback loops, and quickly deliver MVP products for further refinement by other teams. In addition, the team will identify and test new tools for accelerating the software development lifecycle.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled and adaptable AI Engineer to join our AI Proof of Concepts team at JWP x Connatix. You'll be responsible for implementing AI-First development methodologies, integrating sophisticated AI tools into our software pipeline, and rapidly building MVP prototypes that demonstrate innovative solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of AI-integrated development while delivering high-impact prototypes in a fast-paced, iterative environment.The ideal candidate thrives in rapid prototyping environments, has hands-on experience with AI tool integration, and enjoys the challenge of quickly turning concepts into working demonstrations for stakeholder validation.
As a Software Engineer, you will:
- Rapidly prototype and build MVP solutions using AI-First development methodologies
- Develop, integrate and evaluate sophisticated AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle
- Implement AI-assisted coding, testing, and deployment practices within development workflows
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and incorporate feedback into iterative prototypes
- Design and develop proof-of-concept applications that demonstrate innovative solutions
- Optimize development pipelines by identifying and adopting new AI tools and best practices
- Work cross-functionally to ensure smooth handoffs of MVP products to other engineering teams
- Document and refine AI-First methodologies for broader organizational adoption
- Participate in rapid iteration cycles, turning stakeholder feedback into actionable technical improvements
- Evaluate emerging AI development tools and assess their potential impact on team productivity
- Mentor junior team members on AI tool adoption and best practices
- Contribute to establishing industry best practices for AI-integrated software development
- Build scalable prototypes that can serve as technical foundations for production implementations
- Collaborate with product and design teams to validate technical feasibility of AI-driven concepts
Requirements for the role:
- Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of software engineering experience with modern programming languages (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML cloud services (OpenAI, Google APIs, etc) and modern AI development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT)
- Knowledge of AI/ML security best practices
- Proven experience in rapid prototyping and MVP development
- Experience integrating AI tools into workflows and strong understanding of SDLC and CI/CD
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in Python preferred
- Understanding of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL)
- Ability to work in fast-paced, iterative environments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and quickly adapt to new technologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity about emerging AI
- Experience with testing frameworks, automated testing, version control, and collaborative development
