What's the Role About?
As an AI Engineer, you'll drive the intelligence layer of CommerceClarity's platform, building and scaling LLM-powered features that transform how businesses understand commerce data. We're looking for engineers who can design sophisticated AI workflows, optimize LLM integrations, and make strategic decisions about model selection and architecture. You'll work at the intersection of engineering and AI, collaborating closely with founders and full-stack developers to ship innovative AI-native experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement LLM integrations with Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, and other foundation models
- Build and optimize prompt engineering workflows for reliable, cost-effective AI outputs
- Develop agent orchestration systems, RAG pipelines, and AI simulation frameworks
- Manage LLM API calls, token optimization, and response caching strategies
- Implement evaluation frameworks and A/B testing for AI feature quality
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify AI-native opportunities
- Monitor and optimize AI system performance, costs, and reliability
Who You Are
Essential:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with LLM integrations and applications
- Production experience integrating APIs from Anthropic, OpenAI, or similar providers
- Strong prompt engineering skills with systematic optimization approaches
- Understanding of LLM capabilities, limitations, and cost-performance tradeoffs
- Experience with vector databases and semantic search (Pinecone, Weaviate, or similar)
- Proficiency in Python with experience in AI/ML libraries
- Fluent in English with strong written communication
- Clear thinking, low ego, high standards, and openness to feedback
- Fast experimentation mindset with data-driven iteration
- Deep curiosity about AI advancement and emerging model capabilities
Nice to have:
- Experience with ML architectures, fine-tuning, or model training
- Background in traditional ML/NLP techniques and frameworks (scikit-learn, transformers)
- Knowledge of LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar orchestration frameworks
- Experience in ecommerce, retail analytics, or pricing optimization
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and model monitoring tools
