About the Role:
We are currently recruiting five experienced Advanced Practitioners to join Coventry City Council’s West Social Worker Caseholding Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting children and families across a range of statutory interventions, including:
• Child in Need (CIN)
• Child Protection (CP)
• Looked After Children (LAC)
• Section 20 accommodation
• Initiating care proceedings and pre-proceedings work
This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and families, working within a supportive and forward-thinking team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage complex caseloads within statutory frameworks
• Lead on case discussions and provide guidance to less experienced practitioners
• Undertake assessments, planning, and review of cases in line with legislation
• Engage effectively with children, young people, and families to promote positive outcomes
• Contribute to multi-agency collaboration and court proceedings as required
Requirements:
• Social Work England registration
• Proven post-qualification experience in children’s social work
• Must be a car driver (no travel allowance provided)
• Right to work in the UK (Passport, Visa, or Biometric Card)
• Valid DBS certificate
• Up-to-date CV with no unexplained gaps and clear date ranges
Working Arrangements:
• Hybrid working model
• Minimum of 3 days in the office per week during non-duty weeks (4 out of every 5 weeks)
• Full office attendance required during duty week (1 week in 5)
