Description
Responsible for directing, coordinating, and managing all aspects of the operating functions, processes, and staff of Buffalo Surgery Center while demonstrating the primary goal of efficiently and safely providing surgical services that meet or exceed patient expectations while improving clinical and financial operations.
Responsibilities:

- Efficiently and effectively manage the daily operations of the surgery center.
- Ensure compliance with BSC's policy and procedures as related to internal controls.
- Develop, monitor, and control staffing needs, operations budget, and capital budget.
- Deploy, monitor, and ensure that Buffalo Surgery Center values and mission support the foundation of the facility's operational processes and are appropriately integrated within the facility's QAPI program.
- Work closely with the Chief of Anesthesiology to ensure optimal patient care, workflow efficiency, and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Develop, monitor, and control the purchasing plan to stay within the proposed budget and maintain compliance with group purchasing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies (AAAHC).
- Collaborate with CFO to closely monitor variations in the financial performance of the facility to avoid cash flow problems.
- Work closely with human resources and managers on talent acquisition, learning and development, and performance management.
- Review team member performance as evaluated by their respective managers, ensuring that reviews occur as scheduled or at least annually.
- Hold at least quarterly staff meetings outlining goals and priorities of the facility.
- Promote the implementation of positive customer relations by the team members and physicians.
- Collaborate with medical director in the review and revision of the medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations on a bi-annual basis, or more frequently if necessary.
- Attend board and BSC partnership meetings, as requested.
- Maintain membership in professional associations relevant to ambulatory surgery facilities and healthcare administration.
- Stay current in changes in the healthcare environment, such as reimbursement, legislative issues and business law, and act accordingly in the best interest of the corporation.
- Evolve in your role when performing supplemental responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS in Nursing preferred or bachelor's degree in related health profession, business administration, public administration or other suitable field.
- Minimum three years of experience in a top administrative or management position in an Ambulatory Surgery Center preferred
- Experience obtaining and/or maintaining CMS certification through AAAHC
- BLS certification
- Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients and others.
- Computer skills required with minimum proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Physical Demands
- Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to enter data and operate office equipment
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range to observe and communicate with patients, providers, and staff.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk throughout each day; mobility to move able the ability to service team members and activities.
