Position Summary:

The Environmental Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for an adjunct position in Environmental Studies for the 2026 spring semester. The successful candidate will teach on a per‐course basis.

Common courses needing instructors include:

  • ENVI 105: The Science of Climate Change: Introduces the evidence for anthropogenic climate change, including how the global climate system works, the impact of human activities on climate, and climate modeling to predict future patterns. Examines physical, chemical and biological impacts of climate change and the pros and cons of options available to ameliorate the changes now underway. Includes integrated laboratory experience.

  • ENVI 120: People and Nature: Introduction to interdisciplinary approaches from humanities, social sciences, sciences and sustainable business to understanding the economic, scientific, social and cultural complexity of U.S., transnational and global environmental issues. Introduces basic principles of environmental science, core texts from American environmental writers and essentials for understanding US environmental policy.
