About the job
The Financial Reporting Analyst is primarily responsible for assisting the team with timely and accurate regulatory and financial reporting to external parties, process enhancement for various accounting and reporting matters, and ad hoc tasks or projects.
Principal Responsibilities
- Responsible for various aspects of the firm’s Futures Clearing Merchant (“FCM”) entity, including but not limited to:
- Monitoring the FCM’s net capital levels on a daily basis to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Preparing the daily net capital and monthly Form 1-R-FCM filings
- Developing and maintaining the firm’s internal net capital calculation tool
- Providing support for regulatory examinations
- Assist with the preparation and review of the US GAAP financial statements of the FCM and other MLP entities/funds.
- Assist with the coordination of the interim and annual audits, including responding to information requests from external auditors.
- Assist with other regulatory filings.
- Assist with month-end close responsibilities.
- Identify and make suggestions for efficiencies and improvements when performing work.
- Assist with various ad hoc projects and analysis to support the team.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Minimum 2-3 years in a Financial Reporting or Accounting Role, (e.g. preferably public accounting background and/or hedge fund/broker dealer/financial services background)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to analyze and organize large amounts of data in an efficient manner
- Solid analytical skills and judgment – strong attention to detail
- Strives to drive continuous improvement
- Strong technical proficiency with web applications and MS Office (strong Excel skills)
- Ability to multi-task as well as meet short deadlines in a demanding environment
- Proactive individual with strong interpersonal and client service skills
- Demonstrates thoroughness and strong ownership of work
- Ability to be flexible and able to work as part of a team to meet project deadlines
- CPA is a plus
The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $160,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.
