Job Summary: The Supply Chain Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted production operations by overseeing the procurement, coordination, and timely delivery of raw materials and packaging supplies. This position is responsible for managing end-to-end supply chain activities—from purchase order (PO) creation and vendor communication to inventory oversight and system accuracy within Sage MRP. This role requires strong supplier relationship management, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration to support production goals. The Supply Chain Supervisor continuously monitors inventory levels at NLX, ensures adherence to material requirements planning (MRP), and drives proactive solutions to potential supply disruptions.

Key responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Use external MRP tools to calculate raw material and packaging needs against production schedules
  • Manage the full material ordering lifecycle—PO creation, tracking, fulfillment, and plant receipt
  • Build strong supplier and carrier relationships to ensure timely, reliable deliveries
  • Investigate and resolve order discrepancies (quantity, quality, damage, OTD); escalate as needed
  • Promptly alert Production, Planning, and Supply Chain to supply disruptions affecting scheduled runs
  • Partner with Sourcing/Procurement and Planning/Scheduling on formulation, ingredient, or vendor changes
  • Evaluate raw material and packaging inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and minimizing excess/obsolete stock
  • Learn, apply, and enforce safety policies, SOPs, and GMPs
  • Comply with all QA policies, including SQF and HACCP guidelines
  • Drive inventory optimization to align with working capital targets; own adherence to inventory levels vs. targets
  • Maintain system data for accurate planning and forecasting; drive continuous improvement in planning parameters
  • Monitor supplier KPIs (OTIF, lead time variance, spec adherence, documentation)
  • Lead supplier escalation and recovery plans
  • Drive supply chain KPIs (inventory accuracy, raw material service level, working capital, write-offs, schedule adherence)
  • Assist with additional tasks:
    • Cross-reference production packet final counts with cycle counts to close work orders
    • Support the Training team in reviewing and updating SOPs
    • Collaborate with department heads and supervisors to improve documentation and paperwork processes
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Qualifications & Requirements -HS diploma/GED required; Associate's in relevant field preferred -Min. 3 years relevant manufacturing/production experience -Strong verbal/written English; able to interpret and convey safety, technical, and operational instructions -Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams; resolve conflicts and maintain morale and accountability -Identifies process issues and implements practical solutions with minimal supervision -Skilled at prioritizing tasks, managing shift workflows, and adapting to shifting demands -Competent in basic math; works with weights, measures, and calculators -Comfortable with basic computer systems, production interfaces, and inventory tools -Familiarity with safety protocols and food production principles a plus -Reliable, hands-on, adaptable, team-oriented; shows initiative under pressure

Physical Demands -Willing to work added hours/adjust schedule to meet team goals and deadlines -Adequate vision, hearing, and verbal communication for job and safety standards -Stands/walks for extended periods; pushes, pulls, lifts, climbs, bends, stoops, squats, and performs detailed hand tasks -Occasional exposure to inclement weather -Uses hand/power tools, pallet jacks, scales, ladders, and material handling/cleaning equipment -Safely lifts up to 50 lbs frequently; heavier items via equipment or team-assisted techniques

Work Environment -Dynamic manufacturing setting with possible odors, dust, moderate noise, and temperature/ventilation -fluctuations -PPE required at all times (safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, hairnets, uniforms, face shields)
