Midday Dog Walker (DC / VA / MD)

Waggy Walkys LLC (established in 2002, insured and bonded) is looking for dependable, pet-loving Midday Dog Walkers in the DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland areas.

This is a great role if you’re between positions, looking for flexible part-time work, or simply want a fun way to stay active while spending your days with furry friends. You’ll help busy pet parents by providing safe, reliable midday walks and care visits, primarily Monday–Friday.

We provide professional dog walking and pet care services across the region and pride ourselves on reliability, communication, and truly caring for every pet as if they were our own.

• Travel to clients’ homes in the DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland areas for scheduled midday dog walks and pet care visits.
• Safely walk dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments, following each pet’s specific routine and instructions.
• Provide fresh water, food (when needed), basic clean-up, and lots of affection during each visit.
• Communicate clearly with pet parents via app/text, including visit notes and photos after each walk.
• Monitor pets for any signs of stress, illness, or unusual behavior and report concerns promptly.
• Follow all Waggy Walkys safety procedures, leash and harness rules, and home access/security guidelines.
• Maintain a consistent weekly availability so clients can rely on you for regular midday walks.
• Drive safely between appointments using your own reliable, insured vehicle.
• Represent Waggy Walkys professionally and courteously in clients’ homes and neighborhoods.
• Optionally provide additional services such as pet sitting, house sitting, dog boarding, dog park play groups, and pet taxi, depending on your interest and availability.

• 18 years of age or older.
• Genuine passion and LOVE for working with animals, especially dogs.
• Comfortable handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, and energy levels.
• Able to walk and work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
• Previous experience with dog walking, pet sitting, or other animal care is a strong plus.
• Strong sense of responsibility, honesty, and reliability; clients depend on you to show up on time.
• Ability to maintain a set, weekly midday availability (e.g., Monday–Friday late mornings/afternoons).
• Own a reliable, insured vehicle and have unrestricted access to it during your working hours.
• Own a working smartphone with internet access for schedules, GPS, and client communication.
• Willingness to complete a background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude with both pets and owners.
