HR Manager (Remote, USA Only)

Freshs Wood Agency Inc., a long-standing independent insurance agency based in Pennsylvania, is looking for a remote HR Manager to support and develop our growing team across the United States. In this role, you will own core HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, performance support, and employee relations, while helping us maintain a positive, people-first culture. This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys both hands-on work and building simple, effective HR processes in a small-to-mid-size company environment.

• Lead end-to-end recruitment for key roles (sales, account management, support, and operations), from job descriptions to interviews and offers.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure smooth entry and exit for employees and contractors.
• Support managers with employee relations matters, basic performance management, and documentation.
• Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook in line with US regulations and company values.
• Coordinate payroll-related information, benefits enrollments, and time-off tracking with relevant providers or internal teams.
• Keep accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
• Help design and implement simple HR processes and tools (e.g., performance check-ins, feedback loops, engagement surveys).
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and accountable culture that reflects Freshs Wood’s long-term relationship focus.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for employees on HR-related questions and concerns.

• 3–5 years of experience in HR, with at least some experience as an HR Generalist or HR Manager.
• Solid understanding of core HR areas: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, and basic US labor practices.
• Experience hiring for office, sales, or service-oriented roles in the US market.
• Comfortable working remotely and managing HR processes for a distributed team.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to build trust with employees and managers.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset and willingness to improve processes, not just maintain them.
